WCEA co-accredits and is in partnership with three Regional agencies (WASC, NAAS, NCA) and two private agencies (CAIS and HAIS). Valeria Araujo-USF Counselor-Intern

"I work with children in the context of their family, school community, and peer interactions using a family system theoretical orientation. ."

As a School-Based Family Counselor at St. James, my goal is to help children succeed at school and overcome personal and interpersonal problems.

I’m pleased to be part of the St. James School community and together I believe that we can facilitate the attainment of some goals, assist with development of the student by integrating information and work collaboratively. We can help the student manage dysfunctional behaviors and work for her/his best interests. I strongly believe that to effectively support a student’s success, we need to work together. Their socializing system, school and family, should be engaged in their academic development. Also, one of the first steps is to help the student to accept responsibility for his/her own life. As a therapist, I encourage students to explore her/his life, feelings, and to create a meaningful way to be and deal with her/his problems.
