Sister Mary Susanna Vasquez, O.P.

    Principal

I am a native San Franciscan and am thrilled to be at St. James School as principal. I have been a member of the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose for 35 years and in the ministry of Catholic education for the same amount of time serving as full time teacher for twenty four years and as principal for 11 years. During my full time teaching years, I taught primary, intermediate and junior high students. I earned a Master of Arts degree at the University of San Francisco in 1993.

Catholic education has been a part of my life since childhood. I attended Saint Anthony School (now, Saint Anthony-Immaculate Conception) and Immaculate Conception Academy. From these formative years and up to the present, I have valued the contribution that Catholic education has made on my life.

As we enter the school building each day, we are eagerly greeted by bright and cheery children, faculty, and parents. Their happy faces are a constant reminder of the role that a Catholic school plays in the world. We love the fact that we can openly promote Christian values and help make our world a better place for all. When our students graduate, they will have the tools necessary to fulfill their role as loving, responsible and compassionate leaders. What a privilege it is to work at Saint James School and with a wonderful group of people who believe in, and are committed to the mission of Catholic education.
